Do You Need a Doctor While on Holiday in Gran Canaria?

Unexpected health problems can arise while travelling, or you may need to continue a treatment that you were already taking before arriving in Gran Canaria.

At SUMMER CLINIC, we can assess and treat a range of health problems on an outpatient basis, including respiratory infections, urinary symptoms, earache, eye problems, skin conditions, allergic reactions, wounds, minor injuries, fever, muscle or joint pain and other common medical problems.

We can also assess medical problems that require prompt attention, provided they can be safely managed on an outpatient basis with the facilities available at our clinics.

If your condition requires tests, hospital treatment, specialist assessment or other facilities that are not available at the clinic, we will advise you and refer you to the appropriate healthcare facility.

Have You Forgotten or Run Out of Medication While Travelling?

If you have forgotten your medication while on holiday, run out of it or need to continue your usual treatment, we can assess your situation and issue a private prescription when appropriate.

We recommend bringing any available information about your treatment, such as medical reports, previous prescriptions, the medication packaging or documentation showing the name and dosage. This will help the doctor confirm the treatment you normally take.

If there is any uncertainty about the medication, dosage, indication or safety of the treatment, a medical assessment will be required before a prescription can be issued.

Medical Tests During Your Holiday

If you need a blood test or other laboratory test during your stay in Gran Canaria, we can arrange a range of laboratory tests through our clinics.

We also offer rapid tests when medically indicated, including tests for certain respiratory infections and other tests that can be performed directly at the clinic

Results can be provided in printed form or sent by email or WhatsApp, and can be reviewed by our medical team.

Wound Care and Other Medical Procedures During Your Holiday

If you suffer a wound or minor injury during your holiday, or need an outpatient medical procedure, we can assess the problem and provide appropriate treatment when it can be safely managed with the facilities available at our clinics.

We provide wound care, sutures and suture removal, bandaging and immobilisation, ear irrigation, nebuliser treatments, electrocardiograms (ECG) and medication administration, among other outpatient procedures.

If the problem requires additional tests, hospital care or specialist assessment, we will advise the patient on referral to the appropriate healthcare facility.

Medical Care in English, German, Spanish and Polish

We understand that explaining a health problem in another language can be difficult, especially when it happens while you are on holiday.

At SUMMER CLINIC, we regularly care for international patients and can communicate directly in English, German, Spanish and Polish, making it easier to explain symptoms, medical history and treatment instructions.

If you have medical reports, prescriptions, test results or other documentation related to your health problem, you can bring them with you so that the doctor can review them during your consultation.
