Medical Services in Gran Canaria
At SUMMER CLINIC, we provide medical services in Gran Canaria for residents and tourists at our clinics in Playa del Inglés and San Agustín. Our services include general medicine, outpatient urgent medical care, laboratory tests and rapid tests, medical procedures, private prescriptions and medical certificates, aesthetic medicine and ozone therapy.
General Medicine and Urgent Medical Care
We treat health problems that require medical assessment during your stay or everyday life in Gran Canaria. We provide general medical consultations and outpatient urgent medical care, with assessment, diagnosis and treatment according to each case. If hospital care or specialist treatment is required, we will advise you on the appropriate referral.
Laboratory Tests and Rapid Tests
We perform blood tests from Monday to Friday, usually between 09:00 and 11:00. An appointment is recommended but not required. We also offer a range of rapid tests during opening hours. Tests can be requested by the patient, recommended by our doctors or prescribed by another healthcare professional. Please contact us in advance if you need to fast or require any special preparation.
Wound Care and Outpatient Procedures
We provide wound care, sutures and suture removal, bandaging and immobilisation, electrocardiograms (ECG) with medical assessment, ear irrigation, nebuliser treatments and removal of foreign bodies when the procedure can be safely performed in an outpatient medical clinic.
We can also administer intramuscular or intravenous medication, provide intravenous fluid therapy and administer vaccines when medically indicated and available. These may include influenza and tetanus vaccination, as well as assessment of certain vaccination needs related to travel.
If the problem requires additional tests, hospital treatment or resources that are not available at our clinics, we will advise the patient on the appropriate referral.
Private Prescriptions and Medical Certificates
We also issue private prescriptions in paper format for collection in person at our clinics. If there is any uncertainty about the medication, dosage or indication, a medical assessment will be required before the prescription is issued.
We provide a range of medical certificates, including general medical, sports, fitness, travel and diving certificates, following a medical assessment when required. We can also issue certificates relating to a patient’s health or fitness for certain activities, provided that the necessary assessment can be carried out with the facilities available at our clinics.
Aesthetic Medicine
We offer aesthetic medicine treatments following a personalised medical assessment. The initial consultation is free and allows us to determine the most appropriate options for each patient and provide a quotation before treatment. Available treatments include botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid fillers, mesotherapy and collagen-stimulating treatments. Our aesthetic medicine services are mainly provided at our San Agustín clinic.
Ozone Therapy
We offer ozone therapy following an individual medical assessment, using different routes of administration according to each patient’s needs and medical indication. We also provide treatments focused on general wellbeing which, when medically appropriate, may be combined with vitamin C or glutathione.
